January 8, 2013

I chose this as one of my favorite photos because I think that it looks really cool and the person that did this Photoshop did a really good job at it. The red eyes on the alligator make it look really unique and it actually looks real.
I also chose this picture because it's of Obama and Michelle Obama and I think that it just shows a lot of passion and it shows how happy they are and i also like how the lights are in the background.
I think that this was an important picture of 2012 because this is when the shooting happened Connecticut and it shows a teacher guiding the kisds out of the building and, I just think that its a very powerful photo.
The most news story had to be the shooting at the elementary school in Connecticut because everybody heard about it and it just made people realize the world that they were living in. I think that more people cared because these little kids that have done absolutely nothing wrong were killed, these kids that had a future ahead of them.
I think the best song of 2012 was As long as you love me by Justin Bieber ft. Big Sean. I chose this one because I think that it was a really good song and everybody knew it.. even if somebody didn't like it, they knew the words and couldn't help but sing along. I also like it because i just never got tired of it.

I think that the best movie im 2012 was Pitch Perfect. I chose this one as my favorite because I just loved that movie, I could put it on whenever I wanted and I know I would just laugh because it's just that funny.

I chose Adele as one of the most important people of 2012 because she came out with so many great songs and her voice is just so amazing. She also encouraged girls and showed that you don't have to be skinny to be beautiful. I think that a lot of young girls and boys look up to her and admire her and I think that she will continue to make good music.

I think one of the biggest sports in 2012 was basketball because a lot of people watched it and many people were watching the playoffs going for Miami Heat or hating Miami Heat either way they are still talking about it. Basketball is just an interesting sport.
During the holiday break I really didn't go anywhere, I just stayed home and relaxed and enjoyed the time off. I didn't have any New Years resolution because I knew i would have forgotten them. I just hope that 2013 is a better year for me and i plan to be more involved in school.

Extra Credit

1. Explain what happened to the man that was killed by the subway and how the photographer was able to take the photo.
A man was shoved onto tracks of an upcoming subway and the driver could not stop in time and the man was crushed and the photographer was able to take the picture because he was there when it was happening.
2. Why did the photographer say he took the photo?
He said her took the pictures to make an effort to alert the train driver with the flash that something was wrong.
3. Do you think the photographer should have taken the photo?
I think that the photographer is not wrong for taking the photo because it is his job.
4. Do you think the photographer did the best thing he could have done in this situation? Why or why not?
I think it was best for him because there was no way he was going to be able to save the man when the train was already coming.
5. Do you agree or disagree with the decision to run the photo on the front page of the New York Post?
I agree with the decision because I think that it shows the full story and it shows the readers to be cautious around these things.
6. What is more important to a photojournalist, capturing images of life as it happens or stopping bad things from happening?

It is important because people want to see these things and it's the photographers job to go out and find news.
7. Do you think it is ever ethically acceptable for a photographer to involve himself/herself in a situation that he or she photographs?
Photographers are paid for one thing and one thing only and that is to take pictures so they should try to stay out of the way as much as possible and not get into the scene.

8. Should photojournalists always avoid influencing events as they happen?
I think that they should avoid it and just take pictures

9. After reading the responses from the professional photographers, what stands out as the most appropriate response for a photographer to this situation. "Once a reporter or photographer lends a hand to someone, that journalist ceases being a journalist and becomes part of the story" This one stood out the most to me because i think that it explains the situation the best because as much as he wanted to save him, he couldn't because it's not his job.

December 7, 2012

When I clicked on the photo it started to move. I think that this camera is like a 3D kind of thing. I think the photographer knows how to take this kind of photo because the way they set things up to appear that way. I think that it is worth the money because its different and people would pay money just for some pictures like this.

On the video some of the changes that happened from the computer was her neck, they made it longer and they made her eyes bigger and they took off any blemishes she may have had. I think that its ok to change this photo up because it goes on a big billboard and you don't want any part of it messed up. I think its wrong when someone is trying to sell something and they just use Photoshop to make it believable because then it's just false advertisement. I think some changes that ok is if you're fixing someone up just to make them look better but it's not ok if you just fix someone up to make the people believe something they are selling. Fashion photography is like pictures of fashion and stuff but photojournalism are pictures of everything.

December 3, 2012

  • Think about your motivation and emotions: Blankly staring at the camera rarely gets good results. Be silly, don’t be afraid to over-act. The worst that can happen is that you fill up your memory card with useless photos; but you might also find yourself with a proper gold-nugget of a self portrait.
  • Have fun with it. Be sexy. Be yourself. Be awesome. Be different. Be creative. Whatever you do, have fun with it. That’s part of the point, after all.
  • Use your imagination! A self-portrait can reveal a lot about you, by including props and even other people that are meaningful in your life

ENVIRONMENTAL PORTRAIT: I liked this picture because i think it showed that the girl i really passionate about what she does. It was a full body portrait and she was doing ballet.

ENVIRONMENTAL PORTRAIT: I liked this picture because the man was just looking down thinking.. It's an empty cafe and it just looks like he is relaxing and taking a break from the world.
PHOTOGRAPHY SELF PORTRAIT: I liked this picture because I think it shows her personality just by the little things that she added like the mustache and her super long eye lashes.
PHOTOGRAPHY SELF PORTRAIT: I liked this picture because, there was a tornado in the background while the guy is creating a scene just like it with a tornado and I just thought it was unique.
