Cindy Sherman
Cindy Sherman was born on January 19, 1954 in Glen Ridge, New Jersey. She was the youngest of five children and she grew up in Huntington, Long Island. When Sherman was a freshman in college she had studied painting until she realized that it was not for her. After Sherman gradated she moved to New York to get her career started. She was a model and she is in some of her photos that she takes, she plays different roles not specific ones, but she does this for her photographs. In 1980, Sherman created a series called "Rear-Screen Projections". And in 1981, she was commissioned by a magazine, Artforum, to do a "centerfold". She sold her photographs for a lot of money, and her popularity grew around the world and still continues to grow.
