Front Pages of the World
My favorite front cover is The Miami Herald because I like how the whole thing is organized and how Miami Heat is on the cover. My favorite headline from this newspaper is Quick and Easy it makes me want to read more about it and a for a basketball fan.. it catches their attention and continue reading. There are 13 stories on this front page. Something i've noticed about all these cover pages is that there is always a main photo with a caption and a major story about it. Some differences on these covers is that on some there are more pictures and more stories.

who- Charrin the Saint Bernard
what- slobbering, there's a hamburger in front of him
when- yesterday, Monday April, 15
where- at the animal shelter
why- he has yet to be adopted and needs a new home
how- call the animal shelter @ 484-2222
Hungry Lost Dog
At the Austin Animal Shelter, Monday April, 15, Charrin a Saint Bernard was slobbering because of the delicious looking hamburger right in front of him. Charrin is one of the lost dogs in the Shelter and if your interested in an amazing pet, call the Animal Shelter 484-2222
Simplicity- it has a simple background, doesnt distract away from the dog
Cropping- only a certain portion of the dog, not the whole dog
Rule of thirds
Human interest
Lighting/ Exposure
Lens
prime- it didn't need to be zoomed in and the dog is proportional
Make it better- change the setting, move him to the kennel, see more of the dog

Lenses and Photography Vocabulary
I would use a telephoto lens to take a picture of a little flower, so that I would just focus on that.
I would use a prime lens to if I were going to take a picture of a sunset because it's a low light and i wouldn't have to zoom
I would use a wide-angle lens to take a picture of a field of animals just so that i could fit everything in the picture.
Depth of Field (shallow and wide) is what's in focus
Light (angle and intensity) is how bright or how low light is
Shadows Diffusion, softening the light or absence of light
Exposure is how the picture looks like
Aperture (f-stop) is how big an opening is
Shutter speed how fast it opens and closes
ISO is how sensitive the sensor is to light

http://www.lightstalking.com/lens-flare
Most photographers try to avoid lens flare, it is light scattered within the lens. This usually ruins the photo but some photographers do it to add creativity
Something that I learned was that a flare is good for a self portrait but when taking a picture for something that a lot of people are going to see, i think that its better to avoid the lens flare

| I chose this picture because i liked how is and i like how it was captured. The rule used in this was rule of thirds and balancing. Mohamad Muha took this picture. |
Most astonishing images
It takes very good cameras and clean lenses to take a great photo like these.
Something i learned is that there are many bacteria on our phones even though it may look clean.

Cover types
Early Magazine Covers, in the 1700's they did not have magazine covers, it was usually just the title and the table of contents. Their style of magazine covers, they were trying to make it look like a cover of a book. They usually didn't have cover lines and the article started on the front page like a newspaper would. By the end of the 19th century is when they started to discover magazine covers. The Poster Cover, is a cover that is a really good picture and high quality, it usually only has a title and that's it because it is just mostly focused on the photo, the magazine is literally like a poster. Pictures married to type, is a large title, a model usually a full body pose, has cover lines positioned to fit the picture
In the forest of words, is a magazine with big bright words everywhere, things that would get your attention

| I like this one because it is Kristen Stewart and it shows how much you can change your character, This picture is an example of acting and playing a role and I think that was the message intended in this photo. The picture over all, i just love it.. the cover says "The Fashion Issue" and it shows that in the picture as well, you automatically know its going to be something about fashion. |
