A dog named "Leao" sits for a second consecutive day at the grave of her owner, who died in the disastrous landslides near Rio de Janiero on January 15, 2011.

I chose this picture just because I know how it feels to have a dog and so much love for it and then lose it. When you get a dog .. it gets attached to you and this picture just says it all. A part of you leaves when you lose something special. I like how the photographer took this because it has the whole background showing that the dog is the only thing there with nothing . And it also shows the setting and what kind of mood there is.

Terri Gurrola is reunited with her daughter after serving in Iraq for 7 months.

I chose this photo because it shows a strong bond between a mother and a daughter. It shows how much they had missed  each other and how happy they were to see each other. I like the way the photographer took this because it shows that they were at an airport and the mom had just gotten off ready to see her daughter.

I chose this photo because I think it means a lot not only did he risk his life but it shows how strong their love was. I also like how the photographer took the picture, how it blurs everything else out and it just focused on them.  And I like how it also shows all the other people running away from them.
